San Francisco

I only had a day in San Fran but made the most of it by walking about 24km around the shore front then up towards Haight, the Presidio, then meandered back via Lombard St to the Port of San Francisco and the Embarcodero.

UC Berkeley

I spent 5 days on campus and it's a very nice campus. If I was a student here I might be tempted to fail a few times to prolong the experience. I was amused as I walked through the main student concourse and all of the special interest groups under canopies were set up. I looked in vein for the Pitch Perfect 'Bellas' but didn't find them, or fat Amy.

The campanile is the tallest in America and certainly an icon of the school.

New York

It's a beautiful day in NYC. Walked about 18kms starting from Times Square then to the High Line (a disused freight train line repurposed into a pedestrian path) to the Meat Packers district, then via the Courts (where they were filming Law and Order SVU), over the Brooklyn Bridge. Then a ferry up to 34th street, then finally back to the hotel.
